Summer News 2022
May 31st - The creative dance group attended the Eisteddfod im Dinbych.
June 8th - A dance session with Neli every Wednesday afternoons. Disney football session 2.30-3.30pm every Wednesday afternoons.
June 10th - Year 5 and 6 stayed in Pals Menai for a residential trip
June 13th - Planting project week with Iola Ynyr.
June 15th - Football tournament at Ysgol Syr Huw Owen.
June 23rd - Cricket session with Steve Williams Cricket Wales. Also year 6 children got to go down to McDonalds as an end of year treat.
June 24th - Work on the garden. The school is extremely grateful to Lottery Cymru for the grant of £10,000.
June 29th - Year 6 visit to Syr Huw Owen School.
July 1st - Mynydd Mawr Class visit to Plas Menai.
July 4th - A walk on the slate path down to Waunfawr and back over the tops along Lôn Wen.
July 5th - Trip to Melin Llynnon.
July 6th - Activities with GwyrddNI. Also Llion Williams came eto the school and we watched a performance of the history of Owain Glyndwr.
July 7th - Visit to Llangollen to receive the 2nd young climate champions award.
Summer Term 2021
During the Summer term year 2 and Mynydd Mawr class have had sports lessons with Gethin from the Urdd. They have been developing athletics and ball-playing skills during these sessions. Here are a few photos of the sessions. (Urdd sessions photos)
Year 6 children have been receiving water safety lessons at Arfon Leisure Centre.
Mr Tomos came to give orienteering lessons on the 29th of June. The children learnt how to hold a map correctly, learnt about the different symbols on the map and then followed trails on the map to find marked spots around the school. It was a great session and the children enjoyed it very much. (orienteering photos)
The whole school went on a trip to Greenwood Park on the 30th of June. Everyone had an excellent day. Here is Abby's work describing her day at Greenwood Park. (photos of the trip and Abby's record)
Year 2 children and Mynydd Mawr class have been busy learning the Welsh anthem to enable them to support the Wales team. Listen to them sing, they're excellent! (video of the children singing the anthem)
